Beginning as a custom application business, our team knows the equipment, licenses, and troubleshooting because they still use them everyday. How many acres can the drone cover per hour?
You will see many different opinions online but from our personal experience in the field, we have been from 25-45 acres per hour. This all depends on field shape, size, accessibility and Gallons Per Acre.
What licenses do I need to use agriculture drones legally?
Federal and State licenses are needed to legally operate the agriculture drones. The licenses required will depend on the type of the business you will be conducting, either commercially for hire or on your own personal use. Please reach out to our team to go over the specific needs for your operations as we will help you from start to finish on BOTH State and Federal Licenses.
What type of warranty do the agriculture drones have?
The drones are covered under manufacturer warranty and each part of the drone has a different coverage period. Please reach out to our office to get a list of the warranty periods for your specific drone.
Can I replace my ground rig with a drone?
All depends on what you currently use your ground rig for. Agriculture drones have their place but are not a “golden ticket” for every scenario. We recommend adding the agriculture drone to your farm to compliment your traditional methods. With the minimal cost in comparison to traditional equipment, an agriculture drone can pay for itself in just a few thousand acres, sometimes less.
What can the agricultural drone be used for?
The agricultural drone is designed for precision farming, including tasks such as crop spraying, spreading, field mapping, monitoring crop health, and more. It helps increase efficiency and reduce manual labor in agricultural operations all with a minimal investment.
What are the key features of the drone?
Compared to traditional methods, an agriculture drone is a much less expensive piece of agriculture equipment but can still be used in many areas on the farm. Agriculture drones are also very precise as they use GPS automated flights allowing the user to accurately cover all areas of the field.
How long do the batteries last and how many do I need for all day operation?
The batteries typically last 6-8 minutes when loaded and in operation. This all depends on the drone you are using, field size, field shape, and ferry times. Most clients can have 3 batteries and can achieve all day operations. A 4th battery can always be added at a later time if it is needed for your particular operation.
What are the safety features of agriculture drones?
The autonomous drone systems are fully fitted with camera obstacle avoidance, automatic take off and landings, adaptive inflight functions, spotlights for increased visuals, and many other beneficial features that all focus on the businesses main priority, safety. This includes the safety of pilots, crew, aircrafts, as well as everything around them.
What are the maintenance requirements?
Regular maintenance includes checking the drone's propellers, battery, and spraying system after each use. We provide a detailed maintenance guide and offer support for any repairs or replacements needed.
Do you offer training for using the drone?
We offer Part 107 training both in person and online depending on your specific needs. Our 2 day in person course is taught by a Certified Flight Instructor specializing in UAV’s, which is great for those who prefer hands-on training. The online course is great for those who have a busy schedule and can be done on your own free time. All training material can be provided for both courses.
Who provides insurance for agriculture drones or can you recommend a company?
In the past year, many new companies are diving into the Agriculture Drone world. We recommend checking with your current insurance provider to see if they are willing to work with you.
